I would recommend my friend to just get a complete upgrade. Her entire computer is obsolete.
I found some moderately priced desktop computers. She won’t have to spend more than five hundred dollars.
1.AMD Athlon 2650e processor, 2 GB of RAM, 160 GB SATA HD with Windows Vista service pack 1. This only includes the processor, keyboard and mouse, the price is $268.00. I found a 15 inch widescreen LCD for $89.82. So for this computer she would only spend $357.82.
2. HD 17 inch widescreen LCD flat screen, with an Intel Atom processor230. Windows XP, Home edition. 1 GB of RAM and 160 GB storage. The price of this computer is $378.00.
